When Donut Labs and Verge Motorcycles announced the world’s first production solid-state battery in an EV, experts were skeptical. A company that no one had ever heard of suddenly claimed that it would beat heavyweights like Factorial, QuantumScape, Toyota and Mercedes to market with this game-changing technology.
The plan was to launch it in the first quarter of this year, which ends on March 31. But in a new interview with a Finnish publication, Verge Motorcycles’ CEO Tuomo Lehtimäki admitted that the motorcycles are not yet certified for sale. Many markets will have to wait until 2027, he says.
