BMW revealed the latest 7 Series on Wednesday, which is now a fully software-defined nameplate with Neue Klasse tech. It still rides on the same Cluster Architecture, but gets the technology typically reserved for clean sheet EVs.

The i7 now gets a bigger battery, more range, faster charging speeds, and a plush interior replete with large screens. All 7 Series trims get an updated electrical architecture, newer software, and zonal wiring harness.

Here’s what else I have for you today:

  • The BMW iX3 gets the big stuff spectacularly right, from the way it drives to how it uses energy, though some compromises remain.

  • Younger car buyers in China are looking at legacy Western automakers as a "brand for the parents."

  • Hyundai is upping the warranty of its ICCU to a whopping 15 years, or 180,000 miles. Some owners say that's not enough.
