The Rivian R2 is the industry's hottest new commodity. Rivian's smaller, more affordable SUV has earned rave reviews in early drives, and the automaker has raised its production forecast this year amid what appears to be strong demand. But how does it stack up against the Tesla Model Y?
Our friend Kyle Conner of the YouTube channel Out of Spec Reviews recently put the R2 Performance and Model Y Performance through a real-world efficiency test. The outcome wasn't exactly surprising. The Model Y came out on top, but the R2 held its own despite its less aerodynamic profile.
