We don’t have a lot of slow days in the EV news world. Between endless product announcements, new battery tech, updated reliability data, and constant policy changes, we’ve had a busy couple of years. But this is our juiciest news day since I got to InsideEVs.
It starts with the Rivian R2. After a long wait, we finally know the specs of the production models, set to arrive this spring. There’s a ton of great information on pricing, range, and features, and it looks like the baby Rivian may hit the sweet spot.
We have a bunch of great stories on it. Normally, that would take up all of the oxygen, but today we also have three more huge announcements:
Lucid announced that it will soon launch two midsize crossovers, the Cosmos and the Earth, with over 300 miles of range.
Honda abruptly killed the 0 Series SUV, 0 Series Saloon, and Acura RSX, its flagship made-in-America EVs. That leaves the automaker with no homegrown EV options on the horizon.
Lucid also surprised us with the two-door Lunar Robotoxi, aimed squarely at the Tesla Cybercab.
There’s plenty to catch up on, so I suggest you start now.
