It’s game over for the Afeela EVs. Sony Honda Mobility (SHM), the joint venture which was striving to grab a share of the growing EV pie, will no longer develop the Afeela sedan and SUV that were supposed to be made at Honda’s Ohio plant.
The program was on shaky ground right from the start. There’s no dearth of expensive EVs in the U.S. market right now. It’s hard to see how two more $90,000+ models would have moved the needle without offering something truly unique.
