After a one-model-year hiatus, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz is back for 2027. Not only does it get a proper one-pedal driving mode and some software upgrades, but there’s also a new camping-oriented Tourer model. That version gets a fold-out mattress, ventilation panels, and an “Overnight Mode” that allows you to run the climate control while you sleep.

Most importantly: Two-tone paint is now standard. Clearly, VW listened to a lot of the negative feedback the first time around. I’m excited to try the revised version, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer to learn if they lowered the price, too.

Here’s the rest of today’s news:

  • Tesla is testing out a waitlist feature at Superchargers, which could help with charger congestion.

  • The electric Volkswagen Golf just got delayed.

  • Honda’s EV retreat is expensive. It’s hoping hybrids can save the day.
