Today is one of those days when I’m really proud to work with this InsideEVs team, because, boy, do we have a slate of stories for you.
Andrei Nedelea kicks it off with his excellent story on why 2026 is shaping up to be the most exciting year yet for Western EVs. Most companies have now been experimenting with EVs for over a decade, and they’ve finally learned enough to make mature, third-generation EVs that are going to reset the race.
Those can’t come soon enough, as Kevin Williams drives home just how big the gulf is between existing Chinese and Western EVs. Even the EVs sold by Western brands in China are better. To round it out, we’ve got my take after using Tesla “Full Self-Driving” for 150 miles, and Tim Levin’s look at a surprising EV deal.
I’d also love to include a new Lucid Gravity range test below, but I’m officially out of slots. I’ll cheat by linking it here. I suppose having too many stories for one newsletter is a good problem to have, and a sign of great things to come from this team next year.
